Great People
Education | People | Innovation | Achievement
DPS invests in the people who drive the work both in the classroom and the many areas that support the work in the classroom. The Denver Plan clearly states that great people drive better outcomes for students:
Talented and committed people are our most important resource in driving improved outcomes for students. We know that the quality of our educators is by far the single most important factor in driving student achievement and closing the achievement gap. To significantly improve outcomes for students, we must attract teachers with the drive and potential to succeed; support teachers to develop and improve; and bolster them with effective teams of fellow teachers, school leaders, and staff who share a commitment to and accountability for student results. – The Denver Plan
A Culture of Diversity and Equity
Denver Public Schools is rich from the diversity of its many schools, teachers, students, and families. The DPS community is from different countries and cultures, speaks different languages, keeps different traditions, and has different backgrounds; collectively, we are DPS and we value these differences.
DPS’ story is unique and attracts a dedicated educator corps to carry out its mission. New teachers consistently rank the district’s diversity of population served and ability to impact underserved communities in an urban district the number one and two reasons to teach in DPS. Not only are these drivers to teach in DPS, they also prove to be compelling reasons to stay. Click here to Teach in Denver.
